Our Story

It’s wild to think that what started in a little mobile chapel on Spillway Road in 1971 has grown into what we now know as Pinelake. Today, people from all across Mississippi gather every week at one of our five campuses to worship, grow, and live out their faith together. Over the years, we’ve had three Senior Pastors, each bringing exactly what was needed in their time. In 1999, God brought Dr. Chip Henderson to lead our church. Not long after, we experienced a season of growth that made it clear God was doing something big and we needed to make room for it. By 2000, our team began looking for a new home and eventually landed on 170 acres off Lakeland Drive in Flowood. It was beautiful, but more than that, it was a reminder that church isn’t about buildings. It’s about what God is doing in His people. We opened the doors to the Reservoir campus in 2003. Then over the next several years, we followed God’s lead and launched campuses in Madison, Clinton, Starkville, and Oxford.

Through every step, our mission stayed the same: to see Mississippi changed one life change story at a time. Even in the hard seasons, especially in 2020, we saw God move in fresh ways. As we stepped back and listened, He led us to go deeper. We invested in spiritual health, emotional health, and a culture of discipleship that starts from the inside out. That shift helped shape the church we are today. Right now, more than 11,000 people gather at Pinelake every week. But we’re not interested in numbers for the sake of it. We care about helping people learn from Christ, live in Christ, and lead others to Him. We believe God is still writing this story. And we’d love for you to be part of it. When everyday people follow Jesus fully, everything changes. Families change. Communities change. And one day, the entire state of Mississippi just might too.
